In the quest for floral designs filled with rare and rich colours to inspire myriad emotions, the new Autumn/Winter Collection 2018-2019 by Carine Gilson unveils the Fabulous Tapestries, after a romantic and enchanting painting by an 18-19th-century Flemish painter.
These iconic and timeless pieces feature motifs inspired by the ‘Broken Tuberose’ (1807), by Flemish painter Jan Frans Van Dael. It represents a sumptuous bouquet of peonies, tulips, roses, poppies and tuberoses cascading down a marble vase. The flowers feature stunning colours replete with waxy petals in dusty tones. Inspired by a grandiose and magnificent ancient tapestry made by weavers from Lyon on a Jacquard loom, the reproduction of this floral composition is rich in texture and technical virtuosity, typical traits of the Carine Gilson brand.
New for this season are the evening dresses, which magically and sensually reveal all the technical prowess of an Haute Couture designer.
